The Quality of One's Heart

The unglamorous, unexotic truth is that deep and profound evolution is only possible when we show up to our own individual shadow work. The places where we harbor emotional injury, self judgment and inauthenitic ways of engaging bar us from true evolution. Showing up to these dark places is the only way to authentic participation.

If the capacity to be present in one's heart, to gain greater and greater depth in one's ability to show up to oneself feels like the way to true presence- then the road home leads in, not out to some spiritual philosophy.

Angrende eks-kannibal sulten på kjærlighet

For fem år siden gravde en mann opp liket til en gammel dame, og spiste det. Målet var et billig og «smakfullt» måltid.

Til tross for den uvanlige forbrytelsen ble han satt i et vanlig fengsel, for så å bli sendt rett hjem til landsbyen uten psykologisk oppfølging etter endt soning. Nå er ekskannibalens høyeste ønske å oppleve kjærlighet.

Hva er kjærlighet? Hvordan kan jeg beskrive noe jeg aldri har opplevd, aldri smakt?

Encouraging individuals to be proactively nice

Don't you love it when people go out of their way to be nice? Like when someone waits to hold the door for you. Or when a stranger waves you into a line a traffic. Or even when a coworker shoots you a friendly smile along with a "have a nice day." If everyone was a little bit nicer to the folks they encountered each day, perhaps the world would be a more pleasant place. Operation NICE was initiated to remind you that a little NICE goes a long way.

Oppriktighet blir trendy i vanskelige tider, mener Hyde, og får støtte fra Graceann Bennett, sjef i reklamebyrået Ogilvy & Mather. Ifølge Bennett vil ikke kundene deres lenger ha de ironiske reklamekampanjene som har vært trenden i flere år. Hun mener det nå er inn å være snill.

In China 'shy' and 'sensitive' children were among those most chosen by others to be friends or playmates. (In Mandarin, the word for shy or quiet means good or well-behaved; sensitive can be translated as 'having understanding,' a term of praise.) In Canada, shy and sensitive children were among the least chosen."

Love and Gratitude
